Staffing Rating
Vi At Aventura earned a perfect 5-star rating across the board from CMS, which puts it in the "much above average" category in every area measured. The health inspection rating reflects how the facility performed during state inspections, and five stars here means inspectors found very few, if any, serious violations. The staffing rating tells you how much time nurses are actually spending with residents, and again, five stars means residents here are getting significantly more hands-on care than you would find at a typical facility. The quality measures rating looks at 15 clinical indicators, things like whether residents are experiencing falls, pressure wounds, or declines in mobility, and a top score there suggests the care being delivered is translating into genuinely good health outcomes for the people living there.
The overall 5-star rating is a composite of all three areas working together, so it is not just one good score propping up the rest. When all three pieces are this strong at the same time, it gives families a much more complete and reliable picture. It means Vi At Aventura is not just passing inspections on paper, but also has the staff to deliver real daily care and the outcomes to show it is working.

Questions to ask when visiting
1. How many residents does each certified nursing assistant care for during the day shift and the night shift, and has that ratio changed in the past year?
2. How long have your nursing staff and CNAs been working here on average, and what is your turnover rate for the past 12 months?
3. If my loved one has a concern or feels unsafe, what is the step-by-step process for reporting it, and can you show me an example of how a recent complaint was resolved?
4. How do you handle residents who need help getting to the bathroom quickly, and what is your current rate of resident falls and pressure injuries?
5. What does a typical weekday look like for a resident who does not have many visitors, from the time they wake up to the time they go to sleep?
6. Can I see the most recent state inspection report, and will you walk me through any deficiencies that were cited and what was done to fix them?

About CMS Star Ratings
CMS assigns 1–5 star ratings to Medicare and Medicaid-certified nursing homes based on three domains: health inspections, staffing levels, and quality measures. The overall rating is a weighted composite.
A 5-star overall rating does not guarantee excellence in every domain — inspect each sub-rating independently. Data is updated quarterly.
